WESTERN HARNETT HIGH SCHOOL ARMY JROTC
"THE EAGLE BATTALION"

General Announcements:
Be sure to check the Battalion Events Calendar often, as things will pop up very quickly as the school year progresses.
Congratulations to all of our JROTC cadets on the results of the Brigade Formal Inspection held on 2 November 2009. The Eagle Battalion has been classified once again as an Honor Unit With Distinction!
Parents - Please be sure to talk to your cadets about our fundraiser going on now! Orders and payment are due 16 November. All monies raised go into the Cadet Fund and will be used to support your cadets and the activities of the Battalion.
We have information about our program, our teams, and our Booster Association available on this site. It is our hope that all of our parents will join our Booster Association this year. The cost is $20 per family, and the money is used by the Boosters to support our cadets. Our next meeting is December 7th at 6:00 p.m. in Hut 513 (LTC Anderson's hut). We hope that everyone interested in joining or assisting our Booster Association will attend.
See the link below for more information about the Eagle Battalion Booster Association. For information on the various aspects of our program, click on the hyperlinks provided in the text below, or use the drop-down menu at the bottom of this page.
We encourage all cadets to become involved with one or more of our teams. Each team's home page describes the types of activities and events that the team enjoys, and explains the eligibility requirements for the team. There are several teams/activities available to cadets in this program. We have two competitive teams - Raiders and Drill Team. The competitive teams are open to all cadets, regardless of LET level. Cadets have the first month of school to declare their intent to join a competitive team. This year, the deadline for announcing intent to join a team is Friday, September 25th. If a cadet does not state his or her intent to join a competitive team by this date, the cadet will NOT be allowed to join a competitive team until second semester.
We also have an Honor Guard, which is open to all cadets who are LET-2 or above. The Honor Guard performs at Homecoming, Military Ball, and other requested events throughout the year. There are two other unique components to the Eagle Battalion. We have a Color Detachment, which is very active in parades. The Color Detachment also provides Color Guards for a wide variety of events. Last, but certainly not least, is our Motor Pool. Both of these teams are open to all cadets, regardless of LET level. As you can see, we have a very unique program with numerous opportunities for cadets to get involved.
